I work in ICU, and one night we got in this 32 year old with a GI bleed. He had abused ETOH for year and had esophageal varices. So the guy was NPO, vomiting bright red blood, and complaining about how thirsty he was. The GI doc entered his room to discover him drinking his own bloody vomit.

SO this elderly, senile man was NPO for the OR in the morning. Came in his room, to get him ready and saw he was eating his own BM!! So i called the doctor and told him. The doctor asked, About how much did he eat? I said about a Quarter Pounder. Arghhhh
