LPN’s need more than ever, Mercer Hospital Sucks
Mercy Health Partners lpn layoffs in Michigan amounted to 31 LPN’s being cut in an effort to “save money” and improve the level of care. WTF are they thinking? While registered nurses are essential to patient care they are not the end all be all in nursing. Nursing staffs are short handed already and they think having less nurses on the floors is going to make things better for their patients?
They said they wll be hiring more RN’s but we’ll see how that plays out. RN’s are in even shorter supply than LPN’s and waymore expensive.
FIle this decision under WTF. Use your imagination as to what the stands for.

Hi! I like your post. Spoken very freely.
I very much so agree that they need to be keeping LPNs on staff. The burn out rate of RN’s is so much higher because they are putting double the workload on RNs but not paying them anymore. (Which in itself isn’t helping the shortage.) Thanks for the post. I have a nursing blog too if you want to check it out at http://www.rnbridgeprogram.com/rnbp-blog
