Hillcrest High School Practical Nursing Program
The Hillcrest high school practical nursing program is part of the health careers program at the high school. The program is a four year program that spans the life of the student from freshman to senior year. During the freshman and sophomore years the students study generalized health subjects. During the junior and senior years the students move on to specialized instruction in practical nursing. The course work continues during the summers following the junior and the senior years.
The pass rate for the NCLEX-PN for all high school programs in New York was 48.9% in 2008 and 43.8% in 2009.
