After you gain experience as an LPN you may advance your career via a LPN to RN (Registered Nurse) program. Registered Nurses typically are paid more and have greater responsibilities than a typical LPN. In addition to the added pay and responsibilities there are alos more education and license requirements required by the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

Some of the requirements are:

• graduate from a state approved nursing program
• Pass the  NCLEX-RN exam
• meet any state requirements such as “be of good character”
