Some of the benefits of training with the Los Angeles Job Corps LPN Program

Training with the job corp affords you the opportunity to earn money, free housing, free basic medical, and meals all provided to you while you attend school. Students are paid twice monthly. Also upon exiting you recieve help finding work and a small stipend to help you transition to your new life.

What the job corp does

The Job Corp is a no cost education and vocational training program that is run by the Department of Labor. They program is offered to young men and women between the ages of 16 and 24. The Los Angeles Job Corp is operated by the YWCA of Los Angeles.

Scott has been working at Terre Haute Regional Hospital for over 30 years. SHe not  only takes extra care for the patients but also volunteers her off time to the community. In her volunteer roles she works with local churches and Christian music groups. Further more Scott started a program called “Angel Closet,”  which provides clothing to patients during emergencies. Scott also brings a highlight to many of the patients days by running a patient karaoke sessions in the behavioral health unit.

She will be considered for a national award next!

Holy crap what the heck is going on in Ohio? Miami-Jacobs Career College is on the cusp of losing their license to teach because its students weren’t passing the NCLEX. On top of that they seem to have been cooking the books some to.

You really need to make sure you check with the nursing board in your state when choosing a nursing school. If you don’t you might end up at a crap school like that. Most of the boards have pass rates listed for the individual schools so you can see what schools are doing well and which ones you need to avoid.

Thankfully this has made an enviroment where no matter what the economy does if you’rr a nurse you’ll have work. Nursing is the original recession proof career.

They said they wll be hiring more RN’s but we’ll see how that plays out. RN’s are in even shorter supply than LPN’s and waymore expensive.

FIle this decision under WTF. Use your imagination as to what the stands for.

The worst experience I ever had was before I was a nurse. I was working the ambulances and sometimes we had to go check on the elderly.

We were dispatched to a scene to check on this elderly man who had been acting strangely. When we arrived the police were already there and told us to be careful as it was nasty in the house. How bad could it be though? SO I opted to not wear any PPE’s.

So we enter this very dark house and the stench was awful. We were sourounded by decades old newspapers, rotting cat food, and yes… you guessed it at cats. There were at least a hundred of the furry little guys runnng around. It looked like they had been using the house as a huge cat box. The place was covered in cat shit and urine.. it was awful!

So my partner and I get o the man and try to sitpic him to the gurney and exit the house. But as I went to get the man I slipped.. landing head first in cat shit and urine. I instantly puked and had to go outside. My poor partner had to get one of the cops to help him carry the old guy as I was busy barfing.

There was a very disturbed lady in our unit for about a year that used to do the most bizzare things. She sort of shuffled around and talked to herself incoherrently most of the time. When her family came to visit she would start screaming obscenities at the younger ones. Needless to say after a few visits they didn’t bring the grandkids anymore.

The worst was she had this need to horde stuff. She would try and hide things all over the place.. in her pillow case, her hair, her clothes. This one time I had to shower her thats when I noticed something odd. From between her legs there was a napkin sticking out of her vag! Next thing you know I am pulling out pens, more napkins, and a toothbrush.  I get the charge nusrse because this is getting ridiculous and she’s starting to fight me.

Five nurses have to be called to take care of the matter ( four pinning the fifth performing the mining operation ). The worst was what I can only guess was once a the baloney sandwich… yech.

I mean if you could provide that it wouldn’t hurt things but there are specialists in the field. Beyond that what if your  religion or lack there of makes the patient find you repugnant? Certainly an attempt to meet their spiritual needs could degrade the patients car in that case.

I dunno, as an atheist, I find the whole idea curious…
