The NCLEX-PN is the test you need to take to become a licenced practical nurse. ( NCLEX-PN – National Council Licensure EXamination - Practical Nurse)
The test is created and maintained by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing
The NCLEX test is administered by Pearson Vue nursing tests department.
To take the test you need to:
- Submit an application for a license to the board of nursing where you are trying to be licensed.
- Complete the board of nursing’s eligibility requirements to take the NCLEX exam.
- Complete NCLEX-PN registration with Pearson VUE and pay the fee.
- Receive eligibility from your board of nursing.
About the NCLEX
- The test is administered via a computer
- You need an authorization to test ( ATT) from NCSBN.
- The test is in English and all paper work is in English
- A US picture ID is required to prove identity on the day of the test, if overseas then a Passport is required.
- As of 2008 the LPN Test overall first time pass rate is 76%
